HazRes offers a wide range of DSEAR / ATEX 137 services. DSEAR (Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmosphere Regulations) sets minimum requirements for the protection of workers from fire and explosion risks related to dangerous substances and potentially explosive atmospheres in the workplace.
DSEAR is implemented by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) to facilitate in the compliance of ATEX 137 in the UK. However, as ATEX 137 is a European Directive, there are alternative frameworks implemented throughout the European Union (EU) as a vehicle towards ATEX 137 compliance.
DSEAR became part of UK law on 30th June 2003, with a transitional period allowing existing facilities three (3) years to comply with the requirements of the legislation, which ended on 1st July 2006.
Although the deadline has passed, some companies are still discovering that they require DSEAR compliance, either partially or fully, including new and newly modified sites & facilities. Companies that are already DSEAR complaint still require continuously monitoring and maintaining their site, monitor the suitability and effectiveness of their hazardous area classification and improve the competences of their employees and produces.
