Explosion and Fire Hazard Consequence Modelling
HazRes’ blast effects and structural personnel work to identify and understand client’s explosion and fire hazards by predicting such effects as blast, fragmentation and thermal load generation, and devising prevention, mitigation and protection strategies. Potential damage and injury are predicted for all types of explosion and fire hazards including those generated from accidental and malicious scenarios.
HazRes uses a number of predictive models ranging from vapour cloud explosion (VCE) blast wave prediction methodologies to sophisticated implicit and explicit based computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and coupled Finite Element Analysis (FEA) codes to model fluid-structure (FSI) and blast-structure interactions (BSI) and a combination to provide our clients with the right modelling solution.
HazRes also has the ability to quantify the thermal radiation effects using independent analysis tools, and can analyse the dosages from pools, jet and flash fires.
